Service Technician

About The Job

The primary function of the Service Technician is to perform preventative maintenance and various repairs on semi trailers and/or diesel trucks in line with company and DOT standards.

This is a full-time, first shift, hourly/non-exempt position. Technicians have the option to work four 10-hour days (7:00am - 5:30pm) or five 8-hour days (8:00am - 4:30pm). We offer a competitive hourly wage based on experience, plus uncapped efficiency bonus potential.

Experience/Skills Required:

1+ years of applicable trailer mechanics or diesel mechanics experience
Demonstrate diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
Must provide own tools
Self-motivated
Hard-working
Reliable
Works well with others.
Must be able to read and write
Occasionally move parts and/or materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
Must be able to bend
Must be able to use power tools
May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday

Preferred, but not required:

Welding/fabrication experience
Commercial Driver’s License
ASE certifications
Diesel/Truck repair experience
Electrical/Refrigeration experience

The Location

The Cleveland Branch of Transport Services is our original branch and current Corporate Headquarters. TSI Cleveland was remodeled in 2017 and is equipped with a state-of-the-art workout facility with recently renovated locker rooms. Cleveland’s Service Division includes an 18-bay shop that provides maintenance and repair services for heavy duty trucks and semi trailers. The Service Division works in tandem with our on-site Lease-Rental, Sales, and Parts Divisions.
