Mobile Service Technician

Transport Services is seeking an experienced professional to add to our already outstanding Mobile Service Team at our Columbus, Ohio location. The primary function of this position will be completing trailer repairs and maintenance on location in one of our fully equipped service trucks. He/she will also complete occasional repairs and maintenance in shop, as required.

Mobile Service Technician

About The Job

The primary function will be completing semi trailer and/or diesel truck repairs and maintenance services on the road or at various customer locations in one of our fully-equipped service trucks. The mobile service mechanic/technicians may perform some work in our Columbus service shop, as required.

This is a full-time, first shift, hourly/non-exempt position. We offer a competitive hourly wage based on experience, plus uncapped efficiency bonus potential.

Experience/Skills Required:

1+ years of applicable trailer mechanics or diesel mechanics experience
Demonstrate diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
Must provide own tools
Self-motivated
Hard-working
Reliable
Works well with others.
Must be able to read and write
Occasionally move parts and/or materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
Must be able to bend
Must be able to use power tools
May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday

Preferred, but not required:

Welding/fabrication experience
Commercial Driver’s License
ASE certifications
Diesel/Truck repair experience
Electrical/Refrigeration experience

The Columbus Branch of Transport Services is located 10 miles West of Downtown Columbus and was completely remodeled in 2019. Our Columbus location operates an 11-bay service shop and a state-of-the-art body shop, and has been providing equipment sales, leasing and rental services to some of the largest transportation companies in Central Ohio for more than 50 years.
